The Here to Stay Community Land Trust retains low- to moderate-income households across Hermosa, Avondale, Logan Square and Humboldt Park through affordable homeownership and communal ownership of the land.

To learn about the Here to Stay Community Land Trust, attend a 1 hour session.
It is required as the first step to becoming a qualified buyer.
Participants are required to have their camera on and stay until the session ends.
The presentation will begin at 7:05, no one will be admitted after the session starts.
NOTE: If you attended an HTS information session prior to August of 2024,
you will need to attend again due to changes in the guidelines to become a qualified buyer.

Homebuyer Education Classes earn HUD homeowner certificate (free)
Homebuyer education and mortgage readiness are two of the first steps in becoming a homeowner in Here to Stay. Each of our partners offers pre- and post- purchase counseling and homebuyer education classes required for certain down payment assistance programs. Whatever your schedule, you can find a class here! Programs are offered through these HTS partners.
The Here to Stay Community Land Trust (CLT) provides single family and two flats that are affordable to owner-occupant buyers 70% - 120% Area Median Income (AMI).
The purchase price is below market price because the homeowner is only buying the house, not the land. Made possible with subsidizes. Homeowners lease the land from the community land trust by signing a 99-year renewable lease.
If homeowner wishes to sell the home, there is a resale formula. Homeowner keeps any equity earned and can keep a percentage of the appreciation.
Families can build generational wealth. When homeowners passes away the home can be passed to the next generation.
